The NorthEast Person of Leather contestants will be judged based on the categories and point values used at International Person of Leather contest held in Dallas, TX at SPLF. Those are:
  • Leather Lifestyle (75 possible points)

The Leather Lifestyle category of the contest gives contestants the opportunity to demonstrate their concern for the entire Leather/SM/fetish community, leading up to and during the event. Leather Lifestyle includes interaction with judges, other contestants, VIPs, and the general public during the Northeast Person of Leather Contest and host event. We are looking for a titleholder who can get along with and be open to everyone. We believe that one-on-one interaction between the titleholder and the community is an important part of a titleholder’s reign.

  • Interview (150 possible points)

The judges will interview contestants to try to obtain a deeper understanding of their history and character. The interview will consist of a question-and-answer period with a panel of judges. This is the only individual, in-depth time with the judges. The judges want to see if contestants are well spoken and can think on their feet. Interview questions may cover leather, personal history, personal viewpoints, lifestyle, or anything related to BDSM/leather/kink/alt sex or community. Interviews will be closed to the public.

  • Speech (100 possible points)

Each contestant will give a speech from the stage on any subject they believe is relevant. The speech must be two minutes or less. Not meeting the time guidelines will be penalized in the scoring. This deduction will be made by the Tally Master not the judges.

  • Pop Questions (75 possible points)

Pop Questions category includes appearance on stage to answer one light/humorous question and one serious question asked of them by the emcee(s). The questions will be created in advance by the production team and will be drawn by lot by each contestant as they appear on stage. Every effort will be made to ensure that the questions are equally relevant and thought provoking to provide a fair balance.

  • Fantasy (100 possible points)

The fantasy will be a staged erotic production of 3-5 minutes by each contestant. This fantasy does not have to be an SM fantasy, but must be descriptive of and/or based on at least one fetish. Fantasies must be done in accordance with Federal, State and local laws, within the limits of the contest venue, and any insurance policy guidelines.

Each contestant is required to participate in fundraising for the travel fund during the event. Each contestant must provide 2 collection/baskets and no more than 4 for silent auction the day of event.
